Die Hard is undoubtedly the father of action movie cliche's and one of the greatest action films of all time. Of course it is illogical and a tad bit cheesy, though it makes up with likeable characters and a gripping, well paced story.
Alan Rickman is great as a charismatic and maniacal villain. He completely steals the show. Bruce Willis is good as well, but undoubtedly Alan Rickman's role is more memorable. Die Hard is a great movie and and essential viewing for anyone.
