Review of Die Hard (1988) by John P — 23 Dec 2013
Classic solo-hero action movie makes all the right moves. Enough time to set up the characters and situation, escalating action and risk, and down time between action sequences to reflect and regroup, preparing for what comes next.
The hero is ordinary enough that almost everything he does seems possible; evoking a deeper audience connection. Plenty of good action and clever dialog with only rare, slight, missteps.
