Review of Die Another Day (2002) by Alastair H — 06 Dec 2013
A promising opening and first half that starts to go downhill in the second half from the Ice Palace onwards. Bond is known for his gadgets but this was taking things a bit far, An invisible car? Really? The DNA transplant plot device was a bit too much of a stretch for me but I can go along with it for the sake of a fun film.
This film has its moments and I liked the casting, especially Rosamund Pike as Miranda Frost. This feels like the end of an era for Bond. Following this film there would be a much needed rethink about what makes Bond work. Next up Casino Royale...(6.12.13).
