Review of Die Another Day (2002) by Magnus G — 04 Oct 2012
This Pierce Brosnan's last James Bond flick. I liked the action and Brosnan & Halle Berry do an excellent job in this film. Having said that, I did not care for the storyline. This movie has Bond being ousted from the ministry of defense for doing his own thing one too many times and not following orders.
For the first part of the movie it seemed unbelievable how it seemed like even without the back of of the ministry of defense everything Bond needs to seek revenge seems to "fall" into his lap almost without explanation.
Once the ministry of defense decides that they cannot move forward without Bond, this is when the plot takes a turn for the worst. I did not like the use of the plot line that mimicked "Face Off".
The idea of the mirrors that harness the suns power also was not a good idea. Only saving grace is the performance of Brosnan & Barry. Only recommended to those who are already James Bond fans and want to continue the series.
=I.
