Review of Diary of the Dead (2007) by Nina G — 18 Feb 2009
I hate zombie flicks.... unless it's a Romero zombie flick; so I went to see this thinking "it's a George Romero zombie film, it should be entertaining" right? Wrong :).
This was awful. I mean, not even entertainingly bad. The acting was probably the worst I've ever seen, the dialog was uber bad and the "Cloverfield meets The Blair witch project meets REC" hand-camera thing was weird cuz those stupid kids seemed like they didn't know what to do with the camera (and seriously, you'd rather just be standing there like a dumbass, filming, instead of helping your friend who's being attacked by a zombie? or you know, RUN away?? ) and I hate "slow zombies" (stop gasping in horror people :P) they just aren't scary.
I can't believe this came from the same man who brought us Dawn of the dead & Day of the dead.
