Review of Diary of the Dead (2007) by Brian L — 15 Apr 2009
Definitely not Romero's masterpiece for sure. This movie rubbish compare to the other zombie movies he made in the past. I was really disappointed in this movie, and expected it to be much better. Although he did address some key issues in the movie about how some humans can be cruel and therefore do not deserve to live (The ending). But this is no surprise in Romero's work as most of his past film brings up the question/issue on materialistic world & human greed DOTD & LOTD.
So if you're a Romero diehard fan of zombie movies this movie is not recommended. Watching it once is good enough.
I rather stick to Romero's old works like Dawn of the dead 1978 and Land of the Dead. Even the DOTD remake wasn't so bad which wasn't directed/produced by Romero. This is terrible coming from Romero.
