Review of Diary of the Dead (2007) by Spencer G — 02 Nov 2009
This is not a hyper ambitious Romero zombie epic, but instead a scaled back film reminiscent of Night of the Living Dead. It feels like something Romero would have made at the same time as NotLD if the technology craze had been at its peak then, instead of now.
Intense and brutal and not without the trademark social undercurrents, even if they are a bit preachy and didactic this time.
