Review of Diary of the Dead (2007) by Larry M — 18 Oct 2010
For me, the first 3 Romero ...Dead films are classics that I love and I enjoyed Land of the Dead to but this follow up, where Romero attempts to go along with the documentry style trend started by Blair Witch Project and continued brilliantly with (REC) and recently Paranormal Activity (as well as little known British gem The Last Horror Movie), just fails as he doesn't seem to know if he wants to do the docu-style thing or just a normal film.
It starts off ok, a group of students making a horror in the woods hear of the zombie attack and end up in the middle of all the horror. This is Romero so isn't a total waste of time as theres some good kills and horror moments but overall Diary of the Dead is surely one of the biggest horror disappointments of the past few years.
