Review of Diary of the Dead (2007) by Troy H — 09 Nov 2012
George A. Romero's "Diary Of The Dead" Is A Masterpiece. It May Be One Of His Lesser Known Works, But It Is Absolutely Fantastic. "Diary Of The Dead" Is The Best Found-Footage Film That I Have Ever Seen.
In The Film, A Zombie Apocalypse Is Experienced Through The The Lens Of A Handheld Digital Camera By A Group Of Film Students. Just As He Did In "Dawn Of The Dead". Romero Creates Horror Alongside A Potent Political Message.
All Of The Characters Are Textured And Realistic. The Film Has A Grittiness And Realism That I've Never Seen In An American Film. The Film Is Very Scary And Exhilarating To Watch, With An Important Social Commentary Underneath.
Many Critics Have Pointed Out That The Film Lacks Subtlety, But Who Really Cares? When A Film Is This Brilliant And Audacious, Subtlety Would Only Impair The Experience. Romero Has Never Been Subtle And That Is His Charm.
Romero Is An Artist Filled With Passion And It Shows, Believe Me. The Film Has Become One Of My Favorite Horror Films Of The 2000s And Is Among Romero's Finest Work. Romero's Script Is Brilliant And Utterly Engaging.
I Absolutely Love This Film And I Highly Recommend It To All Fans Of Horror. George A. Romero's "Diary Of The Dead" Is An Instant Classic.
