Review of Diamonds Are Forever (1971) by Charles S — 14 May 2008
Sean Connery said that he felt "ridiculous" doing some of the stuff in this film and that it encouraged him to quit the James Bond character once and for all. Seeing this film, you can really empathize with the guy.
A precursor to the whimsical Roger Moore years, this film pushes believability, credibility and cheesy humor to levels that are just beyond tolerable. James Bond in America should have been a lot better than what this film is - a low-budget cheese fest that verges on cartoon antics.
