Review of Diamonds Are Forever (1971) by James S — 10 Aug 2009
A bit nostalgic on this one. A bond movie often features exotic or foreign (as in unfamiliar or untraveled) locations, so I get a big kick out of seeing a huge part of this film taking place in Las Vegas, NV...at a time that I remember. To see it then compared as to how it is now is quite a kick.
Like many of the Connery films, this movie is plot driven. It still has chases and women and all that, but the story is the driving force. Plus...it has my two favorite assassins...Mr. Wint & Mr. Kidd. Fun. Enjoyable. A good way for Connery to end his Broccoli years as Bond.
