Review of Diamonds Are Forever (1971) by Curtis H — 14 Apr 2011
A fun Bond film that lacks the series' usual charm and finesse. The dusty Nevada Casino world in which the majority of the narrative takes place is certainly less than glamorous and Sean Connery is admittedly a little old.
Still, Bond uncovers one of arch-nemesis Ernst Stavro Blofeld's most dire plots as he tracks a trail of smuggled diamonds, and he encounters all the intrigue and action that viewers bargain for. Side villains, Mr.
Kidd and Mr. Wint are the two shining highlights of this film, saving it from run-of-the-mill spy fare.
