Review of Diamonds Are Forever (1971) by Russell S — 20 Oct 2017
Fun to watch but not a patch on Connery's early Bonds. Far too comedic and silly for it's own good and undoubtedly one of the ugliest movies in the series. Connery looks for all the world like a passenger waiting to get off the whole way through.
It does have it's moments though - Mr Wint and Mr Kidd are an oddly welcome distraction each time they appear (they represent the best of the silliness) but the movie as a whole just seems a bit rushed and pedestrian.
