Review of Diamonds Are Forever (1971) by Troy F — 05 Sep 2011
After the slightly disappointing Bond entry "On Her Majesty's Secret Service", Diamond Are Forever is a refreshing return of Sean Connery for one more time in a more exciting film than the last, another positive being Guy Hamilton is back as director.
I'm not sure why I enjoyed this one a little more, Diamonds Are Forever was a fine entertaining farewell for Connery, though a little too goofy and silly. I suppose it's cause I don't expect much from this one as one of the less stronger Bond films (the critics) while there were high expectations on OHMSS for me.
Though not stellar like his other Bond films, it still delivers a fine though sometimes confusing story and some wildly fun action that makes it an acceptable entry at best. I suppose this one gets the guilty pleasure label.
