Review of Diamonds Are Forever (1971) by Manoj B — 11 Dec 2011
Diamonds Are Forever was to me anything BUT a Bond film. It had an exciting (and rather hilarious) pre-titles sequence, but, at nearly 2 hours, it did not at all keep up half that pace thereafter. It has the dumbest Bond girl I've ever seen, and I really think that though that was intentionally done, it was a stupid thing to be done.
Neither a hinted gay couple - hitmen Wint and Mr Kidd - nor an innuendo-filled title song could add any color to what I saw was its drab silliness. I would at most give this a 3 out of 5 stars.
