Review of Diamonds Are Forever (1971) by Timothy M — 05 Apr 2008
Connery returns, but the series takes a different turn heading into the campiness that become a staple of the movies during roger Moore's tenure. Charles Gray as Blofeld and Bond girl Jill St. John barely scrape by with their acting skills and bizarre charactes like Wint and Kidd, Bert Saxby, Willard Whyte, Bambi and Thumper etc.
all add to the campiness of this entry. Despite all of its flaws the film has several memorable sequences including the chase down the Vegas strip, the Moonbuggy sequence and a great assaul on Blofeld's oil rig for the conclusion.
Overall, poor acting but a really fun and relaxing movie.
