Review of Diamonds Are Forever (1971) by Daniel W — 15 Apr 2011
James Bond...in VEGAS! Ernst Blofeld (Now, inexplicably, with a different face, and a full head of hair.) is doing something or other in the Nevada desert and James Bond must/will stop him. The plot involves Blofeld's impersonation of a Howard Hughes-like billionaire played by breakfast sausage magnate, Jimmy Dean. Speaking of sausage magnets, fiery redhead Jill St. John serves as 007's companion in arms and Lana Wood has a brief, yet memorable turn as, wait for it...Plenty O'Toole. The plot is frequently indecipherable, but it does have a dim-bulb, goofball charm, if not while watching, at least on contemplation.
Robert Wagner connection: Robert Wagner is currently married to Jill St. John, and was twice married to Natalie Wood, the big sister of Lana Wood.
