Review of Dhoom 2 (2006) by Kl C — 17 Apr 2008
Can there be less catwalks? Seems the movie had used too much time to hard sell how attractive these characters are! Amongst the Bollywood movies I have seen, I don't really like this one, although there's Hrithik Roshan.
The action scenes in "Dhoom 2" are not as good as those in "Krrish" and "Don", and what annoyed me was that the story was incomplete.
Jai had a pregnant wife at the beginning, but she went missing when the story went into Jai chasing after Mr A. And I don't know what makes Mr A loves Sunehri, it all came so sudden.
Sonali was definitely a cool girl, but she disappeared in the middle of the story as well... I don't mind if the director jams dancing and basketball playing scenes with thefts without justifications, but how can someone ignore the characters mentioned at the beginning of the movie? I thought something could happen to the pregnant Sweety, even if she was not in danger, she might suspect Jai has an affair with Sonali... but there's nothing about her after that carrot green sarong joke... and the story trimmed down to be one of Jai, Mr A and Sunehri... That 147min can be used efficiently I think!
What I like was how Mr A impersonate different people to steal things, such as, being a white statue. And Roshan danced so well. Seriously, I think he is cooler than Bachchan!
