Review of Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo (1999) by Russell G — 30 Dec 2011
The concept of a loser like Rob Schneider trying to make it as a gigolo is effective. The ridiculous characters he encounters and is pimped out to are actually quite funny and lead to some good laughs.
It was unfortunately too straightforward; it fails to achieve any plot complexity. It would have been nice to allow overlapping of the characters and force multiple situations at once making it funnier and would have kept the movie moving better.
What you see is what you get with the previews. I felt like this could have been so much more but it stops at an enjoyable straightforward simple comedy.
