Review of Detroit Rock City (1999) by Andrew M — 02 Aug 2008
One of the best rock 'n roll based/party hard/good time/feel good films I have ever watched.
Set in the 70's, this film is an excellent story about a group of teenage musicians (who remind me of my friends and myself in high school) who set out on an outrageous adventure road trip to see their favourite band, "KISS" play in Detroit!
They overcome numerous obsticles ranging from try-hard Disco dick heads to hard-core christians who belive that KISS are a band from hell!
It's a shame this film never made it to the theatres here in New Zealand but I guess that's what makes it cooler as it is an "under the radar" type film which in many cases.....is better than the mediocre main stream bullshit films!
A must see film for all fans of rock 'n roll or just good comedy in general.
Detroit rock city rocks!!!
