Review of Detour (1992) by Cain L — 11 Nov 2014
At only 69 minutes, DETOUR manages to represent every aspect of what makes film noir, film noir--fate driven plot, disjointed narrative, voice over, and one of the greatest femme fatales of all time, Ann Savage.
DETOUR is not perfect however and with such a short run time still feels really long. But once Ann Savage enters the scene, you just can't believe it. As Vera, the jaded frau picked up by the side of the road, Savage gives her character not an ounce of likability in an amazing performance.
Super!
