Review of Detachment (2011) by Corey B — 27 Feb 2012
While the story has been told before, it is fairly formulaic what makes it work is the actors and how it is shot. Where most other movies with the same subject matter pussy foot around this subject this movie pulls no punches and gets right into it.
Doesn't surprise me that the man who made American History X did this one. I am glad Adrien Brody started 'acting' again instead of doing shitty roles. To me these are the kind of movies that need to made more often.
