Review of Detachment (2011) by Taylor B — 27 Oct 2012
It was ambitious, but it ultimately fell short of its goal. There were too many relationships and stories packed into an hour and a half of wrought self-despair and uncultivated character arcs. Maybe that's the point though, because the crux of Adrien Brody's character is a cold and unchanging worldview--a detachment from people.
There were a few great scenes, but I still felt robbed of something.
