Is it cynical? Yes. Is it depressing? Yes. But is it the reality that some people face daily? Yes. This movie is by no means a feel good movie and reading critic reviews apparently a movie making you feel sad is good enough reason to dismiss it.
This is a well done movie, with relatable characters.
