Review of Detachment (2011) by Jack R — 26 Mar 2013
Contrived and sad, without Adrien Brody's signature brooding the film would have fallen flat on its face. It's like that girl in your social studies class whom cares so much about a cause that you turn against it, combined with that guy in the class who wears all black and wanders the halls in a melancholic glaze even though he's spoiled and lazy.
Detachment is as good as you can expect from a movie that literally includes a hooker with a heart of gold.
