Ultra realistic compared to the typical 50's sci-fi (except for the comic relief). Once can only imagine what the average movie goer in 1950 learned about space flight from this movie. Ingenuous solution for rescuing the stranded space walker and also the way they solved the weight problem for the trip home at the end.
A must-watch movie for an sci-fi or space history fan. And it's in color!!
