Not particularly deep, but charming, Despicable Me is an effervescent film with colorful animation, inventive character designs, great voice cast and solid humor. While there is too much action sequences in it, Despicable Me is nonetheless a respectable debut film for Illumination Entertainment with emotional moments to spare.
