Review of Desperate Measures (2011) by Tony P — 15 Mar 2009
As a whole, Desperate Measures is a poor action movie, a full notch below mediocrity. But Michael Keaton's admirable plunge into a vibrant character grounds the film and gives it weight. The man is very interesting to watch, and thankfully there are many scenes of hs character, solo, racking his mind and body Hannibal-style in preperation for an escape.
Once this is done, the rest is enjoying his vicious wonderland of malice. Lot's of stock sound stages and lighting techniques that were already exhausted at the the end of its decade. Worth watching, though, for Keaton's moments of sinister comedy.
