Review of Desperado (1995) by Shawna L — 28 Jan 2012
Super cheesy acting and over-the-top melodrama, but it's amazing what you--or, in this case, Robert Rodriguez--can get away with when your leading man and lady look like the young Antonio Banderos and Selma Hayak.
Add Steve Buschemi and you're good, job done. All of a sudden, all is forgiven and the audience has actually been entertained, even if it was against their will, in some hokey scenes more than in others.
