Review of Descent (2007) by Steve S — 12 Aug 2011
One of the best, most frightening, visceral in the truest sense (NOT simply a splatterfest by any means - although fans of the old claret won't be disappointed) and emotive horror films. Ever.
At the risk of sounding like a huge girl's blouse, it's another of those movies where the ending has me blubbering. It doesn't pull it's punches or let you down with a trite finale or ludicrously telegraphed 'surprise' which nowadays is the cimematic equivalent of a loud, wet raspberry.
It's not a chick flick.
It's not a guy flick.
It's just a damn good film, and the ending stays with you...
