Review of Descent (2007) by Wes S — 26 Oct 2013
Great creature feature with a complete female cast. A group of female friends from Europe meet in the American Appalachian mountains for a cave diving/spelunking expedition. Believing that the cave is mapped out, they become trapped below and later discover that their friend and guide has led them into an uncharted cave for her own reasons of personal glory for being the first to discover it.
As the girls try to find a way out, they soon find out they are not the only ones down there. Great film that really captures all the elements perfectly of claustrophobia, disorientation of pitch blackness, and the "Descent" into madness as a result during their fight for survival against the cave dwelling creatures.
