Review of Dersu Uzala (1961) by Ben W — 01 Oct 2008
A tender film that draws on the western tradition just as many of kurosawas films do. its a story of mans love for nature and how nature eventually kills man. dersu is such a wonderful character. kurosawas cinematography is at its best along with ran here.
the shots they got of northern siberia are astonishing. excellent movie.
