Review of Denial (2016) by Ian B — 05 May 2017
This movie was not one I can say I enjoyed - because the subject matter and factual evidence is so intense. It is however something everyone should see and seriously consider, because it deals clearly with and demonstrates how "man's inhumanity to man (human beings - as in homosapiens) that is" so easily grabs fickle public attention, and how people with personal agendas and wishes to deny the raw facts of history, become hell-bent on making a name for themselves by denying the truth of the facts.
It is without a doubt a fantastic movie. However, I hated the movie for the raw emotion invoked by the horrendous reality which 'The Holocaust' engenders, I admired the portrayal of the relentless endeavour by the British legal system to get to the truth, 'Truth' being 'eeked-out' against this cowardly Denier and the savage beauty of the intelligent British legal system in the hands of the expert Barrister in turning the tide of public opinion to understand and accept the raw truth that the Denier was a liar.
So with regard to the foregoing in that regard, I enjoyed the movie but I hated it for all the right reasons. It is a great movie, despite my feelings. AND YES, I would see it again.
