Review of Denial (2016) by Fong K — 08 Jul 2018
A terrific cast and a story worth telling. It's hard to believe now how David Irving ever managed to insinuate himself into the realms of academic respectability. If only he had put that great mind to better uses and not been such a racist dick.
Proof, if ever it were needed, that just being clever isn't enough. Wisely, the film focused on just this point, rather than get bogged down in the horrors of the Holocaust, instead concentrating on the individuals involved in the trial.
Spall, as the odious Irving is particularly good.
