1 of the 2 great films Stallone made in the 90s. This is an overlooked gem. Snipes is on top form.
A very fun, over the top actioner set in a enjoyable future!
The basic premise of this movie is a future where violence has been eradicated leaving a tranquil future where everybody gets along and there is no need for bad language. Enter Snipes' villain. Thawed from a frozen prison for rehabilitation in this new idyllic future Snipes escapes and wreaks havoc on the meek population. With no-one to stop him the police thaw the only man who can...Stallone an old fashioned 21st century 'Demolition Man" a cop who will stop at nothing to get his man. This leads to a cat and mouse chase through this future city.
With Schwarzenegger flying high in Terminator 2 and Total Recall Sly opted for a sci-fi vehicle and although it does not hit the heights of Arnie's efforts this is a great movie that will please fans and finally shows Sly deliver some humorous dialogue to good effect.
An early role for the adorable Sandra Bullock. She is a good foil for Sly here.
