Review of Deliverance (1972) by Raji K — 17 Jul 2015
Four friends decide to take a canoe trip down a river in the country side of Georgia. What starts as an innocent trip turns into a gritty dark drama as the four soon are fighting to simply survive. Deliverance features unforgettable moments that are referenced to this day in culture, for its shocking brutality.
The four main characters all deliver excellent performances, and each turn in the river makes one wonder what will happen to these characters next. Deliverance is not a film for everyone by any means, but those interested will find that this film leaves a lasting impression.
