Review of Deliverance (1972) by Mvke S — 01 Jul 2011
I got a lot of enjoyment out of this movie. There was a lot of time waiting for something to happen, but not in a boring type of way. More in an anticipatory way. I kept waiting for the queal-like-a-pig scene of course, but had a couple interesting thoughts.
(1) It gave me a different opinion of Burt Reynolds from what I had before. (2) What the heck was up with Ned Beatty's teeth? (3) It shows how movies have changed. I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop at the end or for them to take out hordes of rednecks, but it was really more about this on eicident on the river and how they dealt with the aftermath.
