Review of Delicatessen (1991) by Ben B — 13 Feb 2009
This story about a cannabilistic community living in an apartment complex was both darkly gothic (the story is reminiscent of Sweeney Todd) and creatively charming (in the style of Amelie). Artful cinematography, a few comical moments, colorful characters and a brilliant director contribute to form a masterful balance between sinister and sentimental.
