Jeunet never ceases to amaze. I can't believe this was released in '92. The playful witty imagery and filmmaking that goes into his productions is unparalleled. And he's only gotten better since?! I'd only wished I'd watched them in order from Delicatessen, Amelie, and then A Very Long Engagement.
I still need to see City of Lost Children, but anyway, this is contemporary French cinema at some of its finest.
