Review of Déjà Vu (2006) by Bill V — 25 Dec 2010
When you see a film by Tony Scott, you expect a lot from it. Then you think of it being produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, and you instantly know that there's going to be the 'Woo!' factor associated with it.
You look at the star cast that includes Denzel Washington, Val Kilmer, James Caviezel and Adam Goldberg, and you think that okay, this is going to be some movie. The actors deliver well. They definitely do, all of them.
The storyline isn't half-bad, and the scientific explanation to the concept is lacking in content to say the least. Did they think that getting too technical wouldn't be beneficial? Maybe. But giving the viewers a vague concept and just getting on with it isn't exactly the key to such a film.
None the less, it's an enjoyable movie, the ending could have been so much better, and overall it's worth a watch.
