Review of Defendor (2009) by Scott W — 17 Apr 2010
This is probably thet most depressing super hero movie I've ever seen. It's basically Kick-Ass meets Forest Gump, except that were Forest succeeds in life despite mental illness, this guy fails.
And that's probably the worst part about this movie, and it's not even something I can hold agianst it, it's that I HATE when a movie makes you pity a character. And honestly if you don't pity this guy, you have no soul!
So basically, Woody Harrelson is a mentally delayed man who dawns the identity of Defendor to find "Captain Industry" a drug lord who he thinks killed his mom because he thinks he was the man who supplied her drugs.
Woody Harrelson and Kat Dennings were both very good in their roles, but Woody in particular. Who knew he could play such a great mentally challenged super hero.
This movie deserves alot more than it's getting. I don't know why it was direct to DVD release.
If you liked Forrest Gump and you liked Kick-Ass, you'd probably like this. Woddy Harrelson is at his best with Defendor.
