Review of Deepwater Horizon (2016) by John M — 05 Oct 2016

I have to admit I really liked this movie, even though I was absolutely positive I wouldn't. I mean when you think about it on the surface, how can a movie about an oil platform burning really hold your attention for more than an inferno scene or two.

What this movie did that made the difference was successfully hold your attention as it leads you through the sequence of events that ultimately led up to the worst oil spill in the history of our country. Combine that with threading the story together to make sure you really cared about the characters and the trauma that they went through and still carry today. Well done and worth seeing on the big screen.
