Review of DeepStar Six (1989) by Peter W — 14 Apr 2012

Nothing really comes together in this late 80's underwater base under attack movie. The miniatures, like the monster, are detailed but not well enough shot to sell the concept and the whole thing ends up looking like a late 70's flick instead.

With The Abyss & Leviathan coming out in the same year the movie suffers even more and might well have been made to ride on its bigger brothers coattails. Watchable in context with the others it makes for a nice start to an evening of 1989 submarine-base monster movies.
