Review of Deep Rising (1998) by David S — 17 Dec 2007
Fun and Funny as hell. Too bad I lost my DVD of this in Tokyo. But, finally, this weekend the temptation to buy it was too great to resist.
Despite the lack of Asian names in the cast to the right, there were LOTS of Asians in the background and a few notable disposals (one in the head/bathroom/toilet room).
I LOVE the disposal of the safe cracker as he twiddled his fingers while saying, "money-money-money-money..." which led to "HOLY SHIT" from one character and "JESUS CHRIST" from a 3rd. Nice to see those phrases fairly close together in the same scene...
And, without saying what song it is, you HAVE to hear the elevator music. Great juxtaposition/integration of music, characters, humor, wit, violence, gore, and gun fire galore.
