Review of Deep Rising (1998) by Jason D — 05 Apr 2008
Awesome Sci-Fi/Horror Actioner from Stephen Sommers (before he started doing shitty films like the Mummies and Van Helsing) about a fancy cruise ship being attacked by a prehistoric, giant squid lion monster, killing everyone aboard save for a couple of people.
Pan some miles away across the ocean where a small boat filled with a bunch of ruthless mercenaries and a couple of unaware good guys (lead by the awesome Treat Williams who really deserved more attention than he received after this film) who were going to attack the shit but wind up going aboard and getting attacked by the monstrous being.
Lots of fun, LOTS of gore and blood and dead bodies. This movie was a lot of fun, with a great cast. Watch out fo dat axe, Djimon!!!
