Review of Deep Impact (1998) by Joshua B — 01 Aug 2009
Though Armageddon truly destroyed my taste for apocalyptic movies, but this one nearly redeems them all. The superb acting by Morgan Freeman and Elijah Wood (along with semi-realistic scientific information) salvages a genre riddled with bad action, violence, and humour.
I would ordinarily give movies of this caliber a 3.5, but in light of the hideousness of the genre, I think it deserves a 4 because it survived the temptation to suck.
