Review of Deep Impact (1998) by Bradley W — 04 Mar 2012
Deep Impact is a movie that is constantly compared to Armageddon because of its release date being about 2 months before it, but even if this movie is not very good, itâ(TM)s still better than Armageddon.
The plot is very weak with characters and showing what would happen to everyone if this occurred, because it seemed more like them getting the audience ready to watch people die and thatâ(TM)s sad. The cast was not very bad, it just did not have enough time to show their truly great acting like from Robert Duvall, Elijah Wood, Teal Leoni, and Morgan Freeman but the entire supporting cast was just there to die in the end and I hate that in disaster films.
If this really did happen I picture human behavior to be like Frank Darabont's film The Mist where people can't trust anyone and they grow more and more paranoid and will do anything to survive, its nothing how they are going for here.
Deep Impact has great special effects, the end where the comet makes impact was truly incredible for its time and I was really impressed. To people who need a really cheesy apocalyptic movie, go see this.
However, you want a GOOD apocalyptic movie I beg you to stay away.
