Even a somewhat 'saddening' ending - not the typical happily ever after story - and a less 'by-the-books' storyline could not save the wooden acting, (specifically by the leads) poor dialogue and generally unlikeable characters. In all, it's better to spend your money on decent disaster movies... as this simply doesn't class as one.
