Review of Deep Impact (1998) by Chris B — 26 Jul 2012
Another world destruction film involving a massive meteor headed towards earth and the destruction of mankind but also man's will and perseverance to survive. The film looks quite dated now and has it's flaws but is a fun popcorn flick with grand-scope.
There are some touching scenes but ultimately it strives to be a visual impact film with the drama on the back-burner and the cliched story and characters only support this idea. Overall if you're looking to kill a couple hours and aren't looking to hurt your brain with overly thinking than give it a go.
