Interesting premise, but horrible characters. and I guess technology has come a long way, we can now figure out many many years in advance that if a meteor passes through a certain point in its orbit in our solar system that on it's next return, will strike earth and where.

The movie couldn't even give people a location until 16 hours or so before impact?!
